Mr. Phet Phomphiphak - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos hopes that THACO will continue to invest in the agricultural sector, contributing to the economic development of Laos at the recent working session with THACO AGRI.
On April 3, a delegation from the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry led by Mr. Phet Phomphiphak - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry visited and worked at HAGL AGRICO Laos. Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Tran Bao Son - General Director of THACO AGRI and the Board of Directors of the Group.
At the reception, Mr. Tran Bao Son introduced the scale of agricultural production and business of THACO AGRI, especially in Laos. Accordingly, the HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex is implementing a master plan, synchronous investment with a large scale, integrated, and circular on a total area of 27,384 hectares. At the same time, the General Director of THACO AGRI reported on the merger of Hoang Anh Quang Minh Company and Hoang Anh Attapeu Company into Nam Lao Agricultural Investment and Production Trading Company Limited (Nam Lao Agricultural Company).
Over the years, KLH HAGL AGRICO Laos has exported many products and China is a key market. In 2023, export revenue reached more than 21 million USD, contributing 0.88 million USD to the Lao budget with key export products such as: bananas, pineapples, grapefruits, mangoes... Estimated export revenue in 2024 is nearly 27 million USD, contributing 1.45 million USD to the state and local budgets in Laos.
The working session with the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry opened up opportunities for THACO and THACO AGRI to connect and promote cooperation in many fields; especially proposing that leaders of ministries and departments evaluate and resolve issues related to the project of the Southern Lao Agricultural Company, thereby speeding up the project's completion. At the same time, consider approving the Group to build residential roads around the project to meet people's travel needs, contributing to the construction of a convenient transportation system.
The delegation visited the Bac Saysettha cattle and mango farming enterprise.
On this occasion, the delegation visited and evaluated agricultural projects at the cattle breeding and mango growing enterprise, and the banana growing enterprise (packaging factory and employee housing area).
