Mai Son Industrial Park has a scale of 150 hectares, and is implementing phase I with an area of 63.7 hectares. Technical infrastructure items such as water supply system, wastewater treatment, internal traffic roads... have reached 85 - 92% of the volume. Some items have been basically completed and are being tested for operation. The water supply system with a capacity of 5,000 m³/day and night has reached 88% of the volume; the wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 2,500 m³/day and night is completing the incident reservoir to put into synchronous operation. The 4.2 km long traffic route has completed 3.6 km of construction.
The Industrial Park Management Board has also completed the adjustment of design documents and invested in an environmental incident prevention system - a necessary condition for obtaining an Environmental License. The items of electricity supply, clean water, and infrastructure operation are being accelerated, expected to be submitted to competent authorities for approval in July 2025.
For the Instant Cereal and Dried Fruit Factory Project of VFI Investment Trading Production Joint Stock Company, about 80% of the volume has been completed, equipment is being installed, and a trial run is expected from September 15, 2025. The BHL Son La Modified Starch Processing Factory Project has completed the main structure, auxiliary systems are being urgently completed, and is expected to be inaugurated at the end of September. The Mavin Mai Son Animal Feed and Agricultural Products Processing Factory Complex Project is completing land allocation procedures, preparing to start construction in August 2025.
The site clearance work of nearly 18 hectares has been stuck since 2008 due to the lack of resettlement land. In addition, the progress of pricing water supply, infrastructure services, and environmental licenses is slow, and the road leading to the industrial park has deteriorated.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to coordinate with the People's Committee of Chieng Mung commune to unify the establishment of a Compensation Council for Land Acquisition and Site Clearance, focusing on propaganda, mobilization, and persuasion to create consensus among the people in the Land Acquisition and Site Clearance. Departments and branches urgently complete the remaining documents and procedures, such as: Environmental licenses, service pricing, electricity system investment, etc. Investors of secondary projects need to focus resources, ensure quality, construction progress, and strive to put the factory into operation as committed.
The comrade assigned the Management Board of Industrial Parks to proactively work with relevant parties, promptly remove difficulties, commit to completing the power supply for new factories before July 30 and agree to propose to the Northern Electricity Corporation to build a 110kV station for the Industrial Park. The Department of Agriculture and Environment completed the issuance of Environmental License before August 10; completed land procedures so that the Mavin Animal Feed and Agricultural Products Processing Complex Project could start construction on August 19... The goal is that by September 2025, Mai Son Industrial Park will have 2 more factories in operation, one project starting construction and basic technical infrastructure completed, qualified to attract the next investors.
