On May 24, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha had a meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Construction, the State Bank, the Government Office ... on the progress of implementing the preferential credit package of 120,000 billion VND for investors and home buyers in social housing and worker housing projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the implementation of the VND120,000 billion credit package is not to "rescue" the real estate market but to contribute to the implementation of the Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income earners and industrial park workers in the 2021-2030 period.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested that, in the immediate future, localities need to speed up the planning and allocation of land funds for the construction of social housing and workers' housing in suitable, convenient locations, with large scale, complete technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, especially in big cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho... The State Bank and the Ministry of Construction should study and propose plans and appropriate interest rate support periods for investors and home buyers who are eligible to borrow from the VND120,000 billion credit package.
