The Make in Viet Nam Digital Technology Product Award is an annual award organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications . This award honors digital technology products that are researched, designed, created, and manufactured in Vietnam.
In particular, Make in Vietnam is a term to convey the strategy, call and development direction of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises. When implementing the Make in Vietnam strategy, enterprises will have to be more creative, design more, thereby mobilizing Vietnamese intelligence, solving Vietnamese problems. The added value in Vietnam will therefore be higher than simply processing and assembling.
After 3 years of organization, the Make in Viet Nam Award has been implemented in a systematic, public, transparent manner, ensuring the proposed quality. In response to the need for innovation to increase attractiveness, many experts have proposed the need for a Make in Viet Nam certification stamp to increase the recognition and prestige of the Make in Viet Nam Award.
According to Mr. Do Huy Binh - CEO of Smartlog, there is a phenomenon of confusion between the Make in Viet Nam Award and the Sao Khue Award organized by the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA). Customers of many businesses cannot distinguish between these two awards, which has somewhat reduced the impact of the Make in Viet Nam Award.
Mr. Binh believes that it is necessary to make the Make in Vietnam Award truly different and outstanding. Prestigious awards in the world often have authentic logos, for example Forbes 500, Fortune 1,000. Users only need to look at the award logo to recognize the position of the business.
“ There needs to be an authentic logo when a business is in the top 10 of the Make in Vietnam Awards ,” Mr. Binh proposed to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
As a member of the jury of the Make in Viet Nam Award, Dr. Ta Hai Tung - Principal of the School of Information Technology and Communications (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) affirmed that this is a quality award with good products and extremely serious judging.
Sharing the same perspective as Mr. Binh, Dr. Ta Hai Tung said, “Make in Vietnam” is a very good and meaningful keyword. 20 years ago, our country had a certificate of High Quality Vietnamese Goods. When people went shopping at the market, they only needed to see the stamp to feel somewhat secure about the product.
“ We can think about whether to put a stamp on a Make in Viet Nam product or not. The winning unit will be given that stamp, for example. When this stamp appears, more and more businesses will be excited to participate in the Make in Viet Nam Award ,” Dr. Ta Hai Tung raised the issue.
According to Dr. Ta Hai Tung, to do this, it is necessary to clearly define the criteria for what constitutes a Made in Vietnam product. After passing the evaluation round, the products will begin to “compete” to find the award winner.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of the Jury of the Make in Vietnam Award, said that Make in Vietnam is a major policy, therefore, it is necessary to develop the Make in Vietnam Award to a level commensurate with expectations. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, the Ministry of Information and Communications should research to create a logo certifying the Make in Vietnam Award.
