Serious landslides appear again at Prenn Pass in Da Lat

While a series of landslides and cracks on the road surface of Prenn Pass in Da Lat (Lam Dong) have not yet been repaired, on the afternoon of November 23, a new, very dangerous landslide appeared on this pass.

On the morning of November 24, the authorities of Lam Dong province and the construction unit to upgrade and expand the Prenn Da Lat pass, Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company - Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, surveyed and assessed the overall impact level of the newly appeared landslide on this pass.

Previously, on November 23, at the positive slope, about 500m past the gate of Datanla waterfall tourist area, a very dangerous landslide appeared. The area affected by the landslide was about 50m long, pushed down from above. Because it was supported by the concrete slope below, this landslide area was not pushed down to the road surface. However, the above incident damaged the drainage ditch, pushing it into the roadbed at this location.

New landslide location appeared on Prenn Pass, Da Lat.

Currently, the landslide continues to worsen, the force of the landslide is so great that the concrete embankment cracks. There is a risk of pushing the newly appeared landslide down the mountain pass, directly threatening traffic safety.

Meanwhile, in addition to the serious landslide that occurred on the morning of November 17, forcing the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to declare an emergency, which authorities are currently urgently repairing, Prenn Pass in Da Lat also has a series of subsidence and cracks on the road surface. Most of the serious incidents on the pass occurred on the negative slope, from Da Lat down.

The landslide area is about 50m long.

Present at Prenn Da Lat Pass on the morning of November 24, CAND Newspaper reporters recorded a total of nearly 10 landslides and cracks on the road surface. The investor and construction unit are mobilizing maximum forces and vehicles to speed up the repair and restoration process. However, due to the occurrence of many landslides and cracks at the same time, the reinforcement and repair work will take a long time. Previously, Lam Dong province set a goal to basically clear Prenn Da Lat Pass in the next 3 days.

The incident is at risk of sliding and collapsing onto the road.

In recent days, Lam Dong province has had prolonged heavy rains causing flooding, landslides, and great damage to houses, properties, crops, infrastructure, roads, etc.

Prenn Pass in Da Lat has nearly 10 incident locations that need to be fixed.

Prenn Pass in Da Lat has been upgraded, expanded and officially put into use for nearly a year now with a total capital of about 550 billion VND, invested by Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board, a joint venture of Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company - Deo Ca Traffic Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company.
