The newly revealed map of Dak Lak still includes many names and place names deeply marked by history, culture, and the lifestyle of the people, such as Buon Ma Thuot, Quang Phu, Tan Lap, Ea Kao, etc., but they are now identified on a different geographical map with a more strategic vision. This is expected to bring about tangible results in streamlining the administrative apparatus, building a government closer to the people and more responsive to their needs, optimizing resources, and promoting socio-economic development.
In the midst of this development, many people in Dak Lak today inevitably feel a deep sense of nostalgia for the past. This is understandable, because in life, everyone has a special place to cherish the sweet and bitter experiences they've had, a place they can name in their memories.

The merger is opening up a new journey with many future aspirations, but it is also a moment for each person to reflect, to rediscover the familiar names of communes and districts, places that hold so much affection and nostalgia… before time has had a chance to cover the moss of the past. Each old street and district name is not just a place name on the map, but also a part of the flesh and blood, an inseparable part of the memories residing in the soul of each person, so that every time they think of it, they feel a pang of emotion, even though the years will cover it with dust. Perhaps the most familiar and memorable is the name "street." People in Dak Lak are unique in that, from any locality in the province to the old Buon Ma Thuot city, they call it "going to the street." The affectionate call "street" is like a designation to express what is both familiar and close, yet modern and bustling, unique to Buon Ma Thuot city.
"The street," with its iconic Buon Ma Thuot Victory Monument (Ban Me Six-Way Intersection), is vibrant with the Buon Ma Thuot book and coffee street, romantic with the tree-lined Phan Dinh Giot and Dam San streets, and also evokes the nostalgia of "four times a day the siren of the old Electricity Department" echoing through the grounds. This sound, so familiar it's become tiresome to many generations, is nonetheless missed when it's gone.
Those who live in this historical crossroads will cherish memories deeply etched in their hearts, serving as witnesses to tell their descendants about the transition between the era of independence and the era of national resurgence. So that future generations, though not named, will see the old streets and districts unchanged, yet will still feel the breath of Dak Lak, rich in tradition, the soul of the nation, and its powerful future.
A new day has dawned, history is turning a new page, and the future is unfolding. Dak Lak and Phu Yen , two regions with their own unique potentials and strengths, will serve as the foundation for maximizing the potential and advantages of each area, creating momentum for the strong rise of the new Dak Lak province. The strength is already there; all that remains is for concerted effort to move forward.
