In recent years, the demand for food delivery in Ha Tinh has been increasing. Previously, this service mainly operated spontaneously, with customers calling restaurants directly or asking acquaintances to deliver, and some stores also hired their own delivery staff, but on a small scale and without a professional operating system.

From January 19th, Grab's food delivery service officially launched in Ha Tinh. Despite being relatively new, this app-based ordering method has garnered significant attention, particularly among young people and office workers, due to its speed and convenience.
Recognizing this trend, many food service businesses in the area have proactively changed their sales methods, combining dine-in service with registering to sell on online food delivery applications.
The Lotteria fried chicken restaurant on Tran Phu Street (Thanh Sen Ward) serves hundreds of meals every day. Previously, most customers ate directly at the restaurant or bought takeout. Recently, the store has started accepting orders through food delivery apps.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, an employee at the restaurant, said: “Since participating in selling through food delivery apps, the restaurant has received more delivery orders, resulting in a more stable customer base. Customers only need to order food on their phones, and the shipper will come to the restaurant to pick up the order and deliver it to their door. This method is quite convenient for both the restaurant and consumers.”
Similarly, Uncle Cuong's banh mi shop on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street has also joined the trend of selling through the app. According to Mr. Phan Manh Cuong (the owner), combining in-store and online sales helps the shop reach more new customers.
“Previously, the shop only sold directly to customers who came to buy on-site. Since participating in food delivery apps, the shop's customer base has increased, especially in the mornings and at lunchtimes. Many customers order sandwiches for delivery to their homes or workplaces, which is quite convenient. Thanks to this, the shop has gained a new customer base,” Mr. Cuong shared.

Not only restaurants, but many beverage shops in Ha Tinh province have also quickly adapted to this new business model. Ms. Phan Thi Bich Thuy - Manager of Highlands Coffee (Vincom Plaza Ha Tinh) said: “In big cities, ordering drinks through apps is already quite common. When this service was launched in Ha Tinh, our store quickly connected to serve customers. In the past week, the number of orders placed through the app accounted for about 20-30% compared to direct purchases at the counter. Thanks to this, the store has gained a new customer base in addition to the customers who come directly to the store.”
The emergence of food delivery services via apps has gradually changed people's consumption habits. According to many customers, ordering food through apps is becoming increasingly popular due to its convenience.

Ms. Dang Dieu Linh (residing in Tran Phu ward) said: “On busy workdays or when I don't have time to go out, I often order food through apps. I just choose the restaurant, select the dishes, and place my order; a delivery driver arrives in about 20-30 minutes. Besides the convenience, these apps often have discount codes or promotional programs, helping users save money when ordering food.”
Food delivery apps not only connect sellers with customers but also create job opportunities for many ride-hailing drivers. Le Viet Viet, a Grab delivery driver, said: “Currently, I receive about 15-20 delivery orders per day, mainly during peak hours like lunchtime and dinnertime. On busy days, my income per shift can reach 250,000-350,000 VND. This job offers flexible hours, making it suitable for many people.”

Currently, food delivery services via apps in Ha Tinh mainly operate in the central areas of Thanh Sen and Tran Phu wards, where many restaurants are concentrated. In the context of the increasingly developing digital transformation, technology platforms are expected to continue opening up more opportunities for service businesses to develop in a more modern and professional direction, gradually keeping pace with modern consumer trends.
“The launch of Grab's food delivery service in Ha Tinh aims to connect restaurants and food establishments with customers through a technology platform. Because the service is new, the number of participating drivers is still limited. Therefore, during peak hours, delivery times may be longer than usual. In the future, we will continue to expand our network of driver and restaurant partners to improve service capabilities and better meet the needs of the people.”
