How have the benchmark scores of medical and pharmaceutical universities changed over the years?

Hanoi Medical University always holds the top position in admission scores among schools in the field of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In the three years from 2021 to 2023, the benchmark score of Hanoi Medical University tends to decrease.

Specifically, if in 2021 the school's lowest admission score was 23.2 points and the highest was 28.75 points, by 2022, the lowest score had decreased by 4.2 points to only 19 points. The highest admission score decreased by 0.7 points to 28.15.

Until 2023, although the lowest score remains the same, the admission score for the highest major - General Medicine continues to decrease to 27.73 points.

In 2024, Hanoi Medical University will enroll 1,720 students (an increase of 350 students compared to last year).

Notably, this is the first year that Hanoi Medical University has added the C00 (Literature, History, Geography) and D01 (Math, Literature, English) blocks to its admissions. The C00 block applies to admissions to Psychology; the D01 block applies to admissions to Psychology and Public Health . Therefore, the list of direct admissions includes many candidates who won prizes in the subjects: History, Geography, Literature, and English.

The second highest standard score among medical schools nationwide is Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. In 2023, the school with the highest standard score is Medicine with 27.34 and 27.1 points (combined with international English certificate preliminary selection).

According to the school's enrollment plan, in 2024, it is expected to enroll 2,516 students for 15 training majors. Pharmacy is the major with the largest enrollment target of 560 students, followed by Medicine with 420 students.

The traditional school complex still mainly uses A00 and B00.

Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy is the only school with an increasing trend in scores over the past three years.

Specifically, the admission score for Dentistry, the highest-scoring major at Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy, tends to increase every year. The increase in 2022 is 0.25 points higher than in 2021; the increase in 2023 compared to 2022 is 0.7 points.

In 2024, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to enroll 1,380 students nationwide for the 2024-2025 school year with 9 training majors as follows: Medicine; Dentistry; Pharmacy; Preventive Medicine; Nursing; Medical Laboratory Technology; Midwifery; Imaging Technology; Rehabilitation Technology.
