Computer Science major has a benchmark score of 28.1, the highest at the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology in early admission methods.
On June 15, the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology announced admission scores based on a combination of high school transcripts and test scores to assess ability and thinking.
In both methods, Computer Science has the highest standard score. Candidates applying for admission based on combined high school transcripts need to achieve 28.1 points. If using the assessment score of ability and thinking, the standard score for this major is 20.65.
The next two majors with the highest benchmark scores are Information Technology and Information Security. Accounting has the lowest.
Specific benchmark scores for majors of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, in two early admission methods, are as follows:
This year, the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology will recruit nearly 4,300 students using four methods: considering high school graduation exam scores (55% of total enrollment), considering ability and thinking assessment test scores (15%), and considering combined admission according to a separate project and according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (30%).
With the method of using test scores to assess ability and thinking, candidates can use the test scores of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Admission scores are converted to a 30-point scale according to the formula:
Admission score = Hanoi National University's capacity assessment score x 30/100 + Priority points.
Admission score = Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment score x 30/1200 + Priority points.
Admission score = Thinking assessment score x 30/100 + Priority points.
For combined admission, the benchmark is the average score from grade 10 to grade 12 of the three subjects in the admission group, plus priority points.
There are four groups that are awarded priority points, including: candidates with SAT scores of 1130/1600 or higher, ACT scores of 25/36 ACT or higher; IELTS certificate of 5.5, TOEFL iBT 65, TOEFL 513 or higher; winning consolation prizes in national excellent student competitions or first, second, third prizes at provincial level in Math, Physics, Chemistry, IT; students specializing in Math, Physics, Chemistry, IT of specialized schools, with an average score of three years or semester I of grade 12 of 8 or higher. Depending on each condition, the maximum priority point is 2.5 points.
The school notes that candidates who meet the admission requirements must still register their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system according to the general plan. If the major is ranked as the first choice, the candidate will be officially admitted to the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology.
In terms of the high school graduation exam results, last year the school's benchmark score was from 19 to 27.25. At the northern campus, the highest score was 27.25 for Information Technology, and 26.9 for Computer Science. At the southern campus, the benchmark score was lower, ranging from 19 to 25.85.
