Standard scores increase steadily for "extremely rare" majors

(Dan Tri) - Over the past 3 years, the benchmark for this rare major has been steadily increasing. This is an extremely rare major, and up to now, there is only one place in the country that offers formal university training.

Flight operations management is a rare field of study in Vietnam. Up to now, this is the only field of study that is offered as a full-time undergraduate course at one educational institution, the Vietnam Aviation Academy.

In 2025, Vietnam Aviation Academy will recruit 277 students for this major, including training programs in English.

This year, this is also one of the majors with the highest minimum score at Vietnam Aviation Academy and it is predicted that the standard score will likely increase or at least remain the same compared to 2024.

In terms of graduation scores, the aviation operations management major has a score of 20; the minimum score based on academic records is 23.88; the capacity assessment of Ho Chi Minh City National University has a minimum score of 679.6; the capacity assessment of Hanoi National University has a minimum score of 87.5; SAT, ATC and IB have admission scores of 1,215/1,600, 25/36 and 31.75/42, respectively.

Looking back at the past 3 years, the benchmark score of this major has always increased steadily and is always the major with the highest benchmark score in the school.

In 2022, based on the high school graduation score method, the benchmark score for the flight management major is 23.3 points. By 2023, the benchmark score will increase to 24.2. By 2024, the benchmark score for this major in the standard program will be 25.5 points and the English program will be 26 points.

According to the academy’s announcement, after graduating from the flight operations management major, qualified students can study pilot training with a tuition fee of about 3 billion VND. This is also the major at public schools with the most expensive tuition in the country today.

According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , at 5:00 p.m. on August 20, schools will enter admission scores and admission results into the common system.

By the afternoon of August 20, universities can begin to announce their benchmark scores. The first round of admission results must be announced no later than 5 p.m. on August 22.

Successful candidates must enroll online on the system before 5:00 p.m. on August 30.
