The 2025 International Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup promises to be exciting as it gathers 4 quality teams in the region and 2 strong teams of Vietnamese student football.

Among the four foreign teams competing in Vietnam, Nanyang Technological University is considered a strong candidate for the championship. This is the leading school football team in the Lion Island, having just won the Singapore University Games 2024. Previously, Nanyang Technological University had participated in the Singapore University Games (SUniG) and the Singapore Institute - University - Polytechnic Games (IVP) for many years. The SUniG 2024 and IVP 2025 championships partly affirmed the position and strength of the Nanyang Technological University team.

The Malaysian University is also highly regarded. Malaysian student players have a technical playing style, smooth coordination and good adaptability. The Lao University team is a collection of student players from 4 major universities in the land of a million elephants. The strengths of the Lao players are good physical strength and fierce competition. The formation of the coalition means that the Lao University team does not have much time to unite the team like its opponents, but in return, this is a promising team worth watching as they have the best student players from 4 universities. Meanwhile, the Life University team from Cambodia has the ability to create surprises thanks to good preparation and thorough investment.

Regarding the two representatives of Vietnam, the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team proved their mettle and strength when they eliminated the University of Water Resources in the northern qualifying round, thereby winning a ticket to the final round in their first time participating in the tournament, and then going straight to the pinnacle of glory. Coach Nguyen Cong Thanh's team played tightly and was well organized, with the core of many talented players spread across the lines. The team's outstanding factors include Lao goalkeeper Thatsa Xaiyasone (the best goalkeeper of TNSV THACO cup 2025), midfielder Ngan Nhu Dung (the best player of TNSV THACO cup 2025) and striker Le Van Thuc. Head coach Nguyen Cong Thanh shared: "With the same spirit as when competing in domestic tournaments, we will enter the field with high determination, making efforts in each match to achieve the best results. In my opinion, the teams participating in the 2025 International TNSV Tournament - THACO Cup have similar levels and student football is also difficult to predict. Therefore, the tournament promises to be very attractive."

As for the Ton Duc Thang University team, they plan to add players according to the regulations to strengthen their strength when competing in the 2025 International Youth Football Tournament - THACO Cup. Coach Nguyen Dinh Long affirmed: "In any tournament, the Ton Duc Thang University team always sets the highest goal. Besides, this tournament is a valuable opportunity for players to compete, learn and improve their expertise with many international students. This is also an opportunity for Ton Duc Thang University to spread the image of the school with beautiful and dedicated playing style and especially the passionate football atmosphere in the stands". At the 2025 Youth Football Tournament THACO Cup, the Ton Duc Thang University team played better and better, only stopping before the runner-up team Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports on penalties in the quarter-finals.
