Floor score to assess ability and thinking to enter top universities in 2025

Of these, the exams of Hanoi National University (HSA), Ho Chi Minh City National University (APT) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (TSA) are the largest in scale, with 50-100 schools using the results for admission.

Currently, some universities have officially announced the minimum score for admission by ability and thinking assessment test scores in 2025. This is the minimum score that candidates need to achieve to be eligible to apply for admission to the school.

Schools should note that the above floor scores are still calculated based on the original score scale of each exam, not the admission score.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , this year, schools must convert the equivalent of the entrance threshold and admission score between methods and combinations to a common scale. The conversion formula will be announced after the high school graduation exam score distribution is available.

By 2025, the whole country will have about 10 large-scale capacity and thinking assessment exams organized by universities.

Ho Chi Minh City National University organizes 2 rounds of capacity assessment exams: Round 1 on March 30, 2025; Round 2 on June 1, 2025. The results of the first round of capacity assessment exam will be announced on April 16, 2025, and round 2 will be announced on June 16, 2025.

In 2025, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's Thinking Assessment exam will be held in 3 rounds. In addition to the 2 rounds that took place in January and March 2025, the third round will take place on April 26-27, 2025.

In addition to the previous testing sites, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will open a new testing site to support students in the Northwestern provinces (test site in Lao Cai province). The test can accommodate about 75,000 test takers. The test fee is 500,000 VND.

It is currently impossible to predict the trend of benchmark scores for admission methods using competency assessment test scores this year, because many candidates will continue to participate in the second round to improve their achievements, and this year's competency assessment test scores must be converted to a common 30-point scale according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
