According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology , Ho Chi Minh City National University, in the competition with top schools, the University of Technology has not changed much, because it reserves 95-99% of its quota for the comprehensive admission method, with a minimum score of 50 points (on a scale of 100).
However, this year, due to the need to adjust the admission score calculation formula, according to Mr. Thang, the school's benchmark score may decrease by 2-3 points, for training majors with average entrance scores in previous years.
With hot majors attracting many candidates such as Computer Science ; Computer Engineering; Control Engineering and Automation; Logistics and Supply Chain Management;.... this person predicts that the benchmark score will likely remain stable and not decrease much.
A representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics said that up to now, a large number of applications have been received at both the Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long campuses.
At the Ho Chi Minh City campus, 70% of the applications are from candidates with excellent academic achievements or higher, or students from specialized schools, excellent students at the provincial/city level, 40% have international English certificates equivalent to IELTS from 6.0 or TOEFL iBT from 73 points or higher, or have excellent student awards at the provincial/city level.
At Vinh Long campus, 50% of the applications are from candidates with excellent academic achievements or higher, or students from specialized schools, excellent students at the provincial/municipal level, 20% have international English certificates equivalent to IELTS from 6.0 or TOEFL iBT from 73 points or higher, or have excellent student awards at the provincial/municipal level.
With the current profile situation, the school predicts that the benchmark score will tend to fluctuate up/down within 1 point compared to last year, depending on the training program.
The floor score is low, schools all predict a sharp decrease in standard scores.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung, Vice Principal of Hanoi Medical University, predicts that majors with a standard score of 28 points or more from the school in previous years (Medicine) are likely to remain stable. Majors in the lower groups are expected to decrease slightly, following the general trend of the high school graduation exam score distribution that has just been announced.
Mr. Tung noted that this year's benchmark score also depends on the adjustment and balance between the admission combinations, details of which will be provided by the Ministry of Education and Training. Therefore, candidates should stay calm, because the chance of admission is divided equally among all of them.
Previously, the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) also predicted that the admission score for majors based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores would be from 19 to 25 points. Compared to 2024, the reduction based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores would be from 1.5 to 3 points.
Accordingly, the highest score range predicted by the school is 23-25 points (according to the 2025 high school graduation exam scores). This score is for the majors of English Pedagogy and Chinese Pedagogy. Following are the majors of Japanese Pedagogy and Korean Pedagogy with a score range of 22-23.5. The remaining majors are predicted to have scores of 19-23 points.
At the National Economics University , after analyzing the score distribution of subjects and the average score of the 2025 high school graduation exam, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Training Management Department, predicted that in the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the admission score may decrease by 1-2 points, depending on the group of majors/training programs.
This year, the school will consider the 2025 high school graduation exam results with 4 groups, including A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English). The fact that all of these groups have Math ensures relative fairness for candidates. The threshold to ensure input quality with this method is 20 points.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, Director of the Academy of Finance, said that this year the academy will have a wide range of benchmark scores, possibly from 22-28 points, not as concentrated as in 2024 (from 26.03-26.85 on a 30-point scale and 34.35-36.15 on a 40-point scale).
According to Mr. Tung, the benchmark scores of some training majors of the Academy of Finance may decrease by 3-4 points compared to last year. A wide range of scores will be an opportunity for candidates to confidently register for the right major to improve their chances of being admitted to the academy.
The Academy of Policy and Development has just announced that the minimum score for candidates to be eligible to apply for admission is 19.0 points (for majors applying on a 30-point scale) and 25.5 points (for majors applying on a 40-point scale). This score includes the total score of high school graduation exams according to the admission combination, plus regional and subject priority points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The school also predicts that the admission score will decrease by 1-3 points compared to 2024, especially for majors that include Math or English.
Vietnam Women's Academy predicts that the expected admission score for 2025 to the school may decrease by 1-3 points, depending on the major, combination (especially the combination with Math and English) and the admission method.
The school notes that the expected benchmark score for the C00 combination may be equivalent to 2024 (in hot majors) or decrease by 1-2 points in the remaining majors. If candidates choose the A00, A01, D01 combinations and have a score equivalent to the 2024 benchmark score, they can confidently conquer the Economics, Information Technology, Business Administration, and Law groups.
This year, the minimum score for admission based on the 2025 high school exam score is calculated by the school from 15 points.
