Valuable experience initiative

In early 2023, the An Tay Ward Military Command launched the initiative "Smoke bullet guns and smoke grenades" from the exploration, learning and bold research of the unit's militia officers and soldiers.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, Commander of the Military Command of An Tay Ward, shared that today the army has used smoke bombs in cases such as riot control, combat drills, target marking or coordination signals...

The biggest advantage of this smoke grenade launcher initiative is its simplicity in manufacturing, low cost and ease of use. It has a compact structure and easy-to-find materials such as: Potassium nitrate (sold as salt in grocery stores); sugar; baking soda; organic dyes in powder form; cardboard…; each grenade has a smoke release time of 60s - 150s.

Thanks to its high applicability and ease of manufacture, the "Smoke Bullet Gun and Smoke Grenade" won the A prize at the 2023 Competition on Innovation, Model, Training Tools of Hue City Military Command and the C prize at the Competition organized by the Provincial Military Command.

According to the assessment of the Hue City Military Command, with many policies, solutions, creative and methodical ways of doing things, learning from experience as they go, the An Tay Ward Military Command has always organized and completed all assigned tasks well and excellently. In the work of building forces and training militia and reserve forces, many outstanding results have been achieved in the period of 2019 - 2024, such as: Advising the Ward People's Committee to assign 67/67 citizens to participate in military service (achieving 100% of the target); launching emulation with the theme "Good training, good solidarity, strict discipline, high combat readiness" ... Thereby, motivating, encouraging and motivating militia officers and soldiers to enthusiastically participate in training with a troop ratio of 98%; 100% of the test results met the requirements; of which 75% were good and excellent.

With the characteristics of a large landscape forest area of ​​over 347 hectares, always at risk of forest fires, An Tay ward militia is considered the core force, with a large number, contributing to effectively implementing the "4 on-site" motto when a forest fire occurs.

In order to effectively mobilize forces to participate in a timely manner, the Ward Military Command has proactively developed a forest fire prevention and fighting plan (PCCCR) approved by the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, assigning specific and clear tasks to comrades in the area and areas where forest fires frequently occur. At the same time, assigning a schedule to be ready to respond to PCCCR during holidays and prolonged hot weather; ready to mobilize with the highest number of troops to participate in PCCCR when ordered to mobilize regardless of day or night.

Militia officers and soldiers are also the leading shock force in rescue, disaster prevention and control.

Create motivation to strive

With the achieved results, the An Tay Ward Military Command has continuously achieved titles in the International Campaign of the City Armed Forces. In 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023, the unit was awarded the title of Determined to Win Unit by the Military Region 4 Command; in 2021, the Ministry of National Defense awarded a certificate of merit for its outstanding achievements in work, contributing to the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.

According to the Commander of the Military Command of An Tay Ward - Nguyen Duc Thinh, to achieve the above results, the Party cell and the Military Command of the ward always correctly perceive the position and importance of emulation and reward work and the Emulation to Win movement (TĐQT).

The Ward Military Command has advised the Party Committee and government leaders to direct the militia and reserve forces to effectively implement directives and resolutions on the patriotic movement. At the same time, it has developed plans and effectively implemented the patriotic movements launched by superiors, thereby continuously raising the awareness of cadres, soldiers, militia and reserve forces, and successfully completing assigned tasks.

Mr. Ho Tuan Kiet, a militia soldier of An Tay ward, shared that he chose to contribute to the militia force with the desire to fulfill the responsibility of a young man living in peacetime. From the emulation movements launched by superiors, he and his teammates all strived to contribute, completed their assigned tasks well and regularly participated in local movements, such as: "Repaying gratitude"; "Day for the poor"; "Building a cultural family", "Green Sunday"...
