Regulations on standards for surveillance cameras have officially come into effect.
The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a decision on a set of criteria on basic network information security requirements for surveillance cameras applicable to all Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals involved in research, development, production, evaluation, selection and use of camera equipment.
The key highlight of this set of criteria is the requirements for ensuring the security of user data information.
Specifically, camera devices and associated services must have at least the ability to set up and configure locations in Vietnam for data processing, storage and exploitation (such as: on memory cards/peripheral devices, cloud computing services located in Vietnam...).
During the initialization, setup, and configuration of the device, there must be an interface that informs the user about the location (country) where the data collected by the camera device and associated services is stored and processed.
Cameras must have a function that allows the user to delete data collected and stored on the camera device.
In addition, surveillance cameras must also have a function that allows users to delete data stored on linked services.
At the same time, notify the user of the result of the data deletion operation on the linked services, whether it was successful or failed.
In addition, surveillance cameras must also have a function that requires users to change the default password or initialization password when using the device for the first time.
The password created must have a password complexity requirement (password must be at least 8 characters long, with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters).
The above set of standards for surveillance cameras takes effect from May 7, 2024.

Coincidentally, the volume of gold won in the second session was the same as the first session, 3,400 taels.
Accordingly, only three members won the bid with a total volume of 34 lots, equivalent to 3,400 taels of gold.
The winning bid price was VND86.05 million/tael, which is also the floor price set by the State Bank.
There are 10 participating units including: Doji, SJC, PNJ, Phu Quy, TPBank, Eximbank, ACB, TCB, VPBank, Sacombank. Besides, there is 1 unit that has deposited but is absent.
However, there were only 3 bidding units: ACB, SJC, Sacombank and these three units won the bid with a total volume of 34 lots, equivalent to 3,400 taels of gold.
The world gold price this morning was at 2,315 USD/ounce. Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 71.06 million VND/tael.
Thus, the floor price announced by the State Bank for this morning's gold auction is about 15 million VND/tael higher than the converted world gold price.
The relief cast on the Nine Urns in Hue Royal Palace is recognized as a world documentary heritage.
The reliefs on the national treasure Nine Tripod Cauldrons at The To Mieu were recognized by UNESCO as a world documentary heritage on May 8.
The Nine Tripods are nine large bronze urns cast by King Minh Mang in 1835, with more than 20,000 kg of copper, lead, and zinc and completed in 1837, placed in front of the yard of The To Temple since its inception until now.
All nine cauldrons have the same shape: round, narrow neck, flared mouth, two handles on the mouth, three legs below the cauldron. Each cauldron is 2.3-2.5 m high, with separate handles and legs. Each cauldron weighs from 3,200 to over 4,300 kg. On the body of the cauldron are notes in Chinese characters about the year, weight and name of the cauldron, along with embossed images of mountains, rivers, and cultural relics of Dai Nam in the 19th century.
King Minh Mang cast the Nine Tripod Cauldrons to represent the longevity of the dynasty, the wealth, unity and territorial integrity of Vietnam. This is a unique and rare source of information on history, culture - education, geography, feng shui, medicine, and calligraphy, highly appreciated by Vietnamese and foreign researchers.
Start the movie about Queen Nam Phuong
On May 8, the film project 'The Last Queen' with the story of Queen Nam Phuong was announced to be produced, directed by Bao Nhan and Nam Cito.
The film's script was inspired by the novel "Love story of Queen Nam Phuong" by writer Tran Thi Hao and the book "Research on the history of Queen Nam Phuong" by author Le Lan Khanh. The story focuses on the more than 10 years of living in the Forbidden City of the Nguyen Dynasty Queen, her married life from happiness to sadness with Emperor Bao Dai, until the day the entire royal family left the Imperial City to start a quiet life.
The film hopes to recreate the portrait of Queen Nam Phuong, who always shines with knowledge, virtue, talent, and ingenuity to survive all the storms of life. In addition, the film will also portray the image of Queen Mother Tu Cung, a model of a traditional Vietnamese woman, with love and sacrifice for her family, as well as the determination to preserve the cultural and religious values of the nation.
