The forum was attended by nearly 100 editors-in-chief of central and local newspapers and magazines. The forum had two discussion sessions: The first session was on “Innovation in Vietnamese press agencies: Opportunities from Resolution 57”; the second session was on “Making the most of the advantages from Resolution 57: What is the effective way”.
Delegates discussed and shared in depth the significance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo for the innovation of the Vietnamese press; the application of the pilot mechanism of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW to support press agencies in innovation, promote new technology infrastructure; the opportunities, challenges, and legal corridors that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo brings to the Vietnamese press in the new era.
In addition, the feasibility of the proposal to establish a Fund to support press innovation; a digital transformation fund for public press or a press development fund; the ability to access a credit source of VND500,000 billion for science , technology and innovation for press agencies was also mentioned and discussed.
Delegates also shared experiences in approaching and keeping up with the spirit of Resolution No. 57 to build a strategy for digital transformation of journalism at press agencies as well as the challenges and obstacles of innovation and digital transformation at current newsrooms; discussed the proposal to add digital transformation of journalism as a national policy; exempt and reduce taxes for investment activities in technology infrastructure, training of digital journalism human resources; build a national digital platform dedicated to journalism in the Press Law (amended)...
