Martial Law Exercise

(HNMO) - On June 7th and 8th, Ha Dong district organized a drill for Martial Law and Curfew in 2023.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Hanoi City Defense Zone Exercise Steering Committee, Nguyen Van Phong; Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee, Le Hong Son; and Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee and Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Duyet, attended and directed the exercise.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong encouraged the forces participating in the live-fire exercise.

The 2023 Martial Law and Curfew exercise in Ha Dong District focused on: Transitioning the armed forces from a state of regular combat readiness to a state of national security emergency and a state of national defense emergency; implementing the state of national defense emergency and enforcing the Martial Law and Curfew order. The exercise was conducted on a one-sided, two-level scale, both on maps and in the field, with a partial live-fire component; it consisted of one phase, three training issues, and fifteen objectives.

According to Can Thi Viet Ha, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Ha Dong District, the live-fire exercise had a reasonable structure and realistic combat scenarios; the command and coordination were tight and flexible; and the level and ability of the participating forces to complete the task were good, meeting the requirements of the mission when a situation arose.

Through the exercise, the awareness and responsibility of Party committees, governments at all levels, sectors, armed forces, and the people regarding national defense and security tasks will be enhanced; lessons learned will be continuously drawn and applied flexibly and creatively in practice; at the same time, plans and strategies will be supplemented, adjusted, and perfected to ensure defensive combat operations...
