According to Sina , actor Liu Xun passed away on the evening of May 29th due to old age and declining health. This information was recently confirmed by his student, actor Luo Jiaying.

Law Ka-ying posted a tribute to the actor on her personal page. The actress called Liu Xun "teacher," and described the actor as the person who had the greatest influence on her career.
"Teacher Tuan's (Luu Tuan) health has been declining in the last 10 years, but his mind remains sharp. He is always dedicated to teaching, hoping to pass on his skills to the younger generation in theater. Many have become successful and famous thanks to his guidance," La Gia Anh shared.

Law Ka-ying and his wife, actress Wang Ming-quan, had arranged to have tea with him. They planned to visit him in July, but now their wish remains unfulfilled.
Liu Xun was born in 1939 in Beijing, China, and was an actor at the China Academy of Dramatic Arts. He began studying Peking Opera at the age of six and remained dedicated to the art form until the end of his life.
In 1980, the actor returned to Hong Kong to develop his teaching and acting career. Although he started his film career relatively late, Liu Xun quickly rose to fame thanks to his outstanding acting skills.

He is famous for his villainous roles, especially the image of a shrewd and wicked eunuch or a martial arts master such as: Jia Jinqu in The Smiling Proud Wanderer (1990); the Eastern Depot eunuch in Once Upon a Time in China ; Master Bai Yun in A Chinese Ghost Story 3; the character Li Lianying in Stephen Chow's The Judge and the Deer and the Cauldron ... In recent years, Liu Xun has lived a quiet life, gradually withdrawing from the screen.
