On May 30th in Hanoi , the Miss Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Global 2026 competition was officially announced. This is a platform for Vietnamese women both domestically and internationally, aiming to honor the beauty of women associated with the Ao Dai and traditional cultural values.
According to the organizers, the competition is open to Vietnamese female citizens residing in Vietnam and abroad, aged between 20 and 45. Contestants must have graduated from high school or higher, be at least 1.62 m tall, have a balanced physique, good moral character, and meet the conditions stipulated in the competition rules.

At the announcement ceremony, designer Cao Thu Vân - Head of the organizing committee - stated that the competition was organized with the desire to contribute to spreading the image of the ao dai in contemporary life and connecting the community of Vietnamese women in many countries.
Following its official launch on May 30th, the preliminary round is scheduled to take place on June 10th. During this round, contestants will participate in a traditional Vietnamese dress (áo dài) fashion show and introduce themselves through a pre-prepared 3-minute music video. The Top 30 finalists will be announced on June 11th.
Before the final night, contestants will participate in several activities such as filming introductory videos, themed photo shoots, skills training, and interviews with the judges.
The final night is scheduled to take place on the evening of June 20th at Vietnam Television Station. Contestants will participate in segments showcasing traditional Vietnamese ao dai, modern ao dai, evening gowns, and a Q&A session related to the ao dai, modern women, and social responsibility.
The competition's judging panel comprises several prominent figures in the fields of culture, arts, and media. Among them, People's Artist Lan Hương serves as the Deputy Head of the judging panel. Historian Dương Trung Quốc participates as a special judge...

According to the rules, the competition will award the title of Miss Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Global, along with runner-up titles and several other special awards. These special awards include categories related to Ao Dai performance, media coverage, philanthropy, artistic talent, and promoting cultural values.
The organizers stated that the competition aims to honor the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) and create opportunities for Vietnamese women both domestically and internationally to interact and connect through cultural and artistic activities. This is also the first time a competition named Miss Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Global has been organized.
