The Ministry of Science and Technology recently issued amendments to the National Technical Standard on gasoline, diesel fuel, and biofuels, aiming to address long-standing issues in the production, blending, and trading of petroleum products.
The revised content focuses on several core issues, such as standardizing concepts, clarifying the definitions of E5 and E10 gasoline, and creating uniformity in production, distribution, and inspection processes.
Updating regulations on gasoline content to better suit current practical conditions and technology allows for the use of additional compounds in unleaded gasoline and biofuels, giving businesses more flexibility in blending and optimizing costs.
The adjustments not only remove obstacles for businesses but also contribute to expanding the market for biofuels. With clear, flexible, and practical regulations, businesses will be more confident in investing in ethanol production and blending technology.
