10 provincial party secretaries are not members of the Central Committee
According to Thanh Nien statistics , among the 34 provincial and municipal party secretaries after the merger, the youngest is Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong, 47 years old.
Mr. Le Quoc Phong was born in 1978 and was Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee before merging with Tien Giang province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, is the oldest secretary.

The oldest person is Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, 68 years old. Mr. Nguyen Van Nen was born in 1957 and was Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee before the merger with Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong.
The average age of the secretaries of 34 provinces and cities is 52.38. Of these, 6 are between 40 and 49 years old, 22 are between 50 and 59 years old, and 6 are 60 years old or older.
Among the provincial and municipal Party Secretaries of 34 provinces and cities, 24 are members of the Party Central Committee. Among them, there are 2 Politburo members: Hanoi Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai and Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen. Among the secretaries of the 34 provinces and cities after the merger, there are 29 provincial and municipal party secretaries who are not local people, accounting for more than 85%. The number of provincial party secretaries who are local people is 5, accounting for nearly 15%.
Among the 34 provincial and municipal party secretaries after the merger, there are 3 people who come from armed forces generals, including 2 army generals and 1 police general.
In terms of qualifications, most provincial and municipal Party secretaries have master's and doctoral degrees, accounting for more than 80%. Of these, 9 people have doctoral degrees.
