In the third qualifying round of the 2025 Porto Billiards World Cup, Thon Viet Hoang Minh is in Group J with Mikael Devogelaere (France) and Huub Wilkowski (Netherlands). Nguyen Chi Long is in Group K with De Kruijf (Netherlands) and Atsushi Kiyota (Japan). Dao Van Ly is in Group M with Marcos Morales (Spain) and De Bruijn (Netherlands).
Vietnamese 3-cushion billiards player rises to the top of the leaderboard.
All three Vietnamese players competed tonight (July 1st, Vietnam time). Hoang Minh faced Devogelaere, Chi Long clashed with De Kruijf, and Van Ly took on Morales. The Vietnamese players performed well and won all their opening matches, temporarily taking the top spot in the standings.
Accordingly, Hoang Minh won Devogelaere 25-29, after 26 rounds. Chi Long defeated De Kruijf with a score of 35-18, after 28 rounds. Dao Van Ly won 35-16 against Morales, after 24 rounds. The big series has not appeared yet. Among the 3 Vietnamese players mentioned above, Chi Long had the highest score of 6 points.
Dao Van Ly is a quality player in Vietnamese 3-cushion carom billiards, and is scheduled to compete from the third round of the 2025 Porto Billiards World Cup qualifiers.

Winning the first round gives the Vietnamese players a strong chance of advancing to the final qualifying round of the 2024 World Cup Porot. The third qualifying round of the Porto 2025 World Cup billiards features 48 players, divided equally into 16 groups (3 players per group), competing in a single round-robin format to determine points and rankings, with equal turns (draws are allowed). The top players in each group will advance to the fourth qualifying round.
