WHAT I'M SAYING: Learn to be grateful

Pham Nguyen Hoang Huu Ly (33 years old, from Vinh Long) has the determination to pursue his goals and a learning spirit to step out of his comfort zone.

Ly is currently the head of a department at a travel company, where he lives his passion for his profession while also expanding his journey of exploring new horizons. He has traveled to over 20 countries and territories. Each destination is a milestone. Some trips are as peaceful as taking a deep breath to "heal," while others offer him dramatic experiences – but all leave a profound impression.

Thanks to her experiences on each journey, Ly understands customer psychology better, knows what the meaningful highlights are, and can advise and design itineraries with the heart of someone who has been there before.

In Japan, Ly vividly remembers the image of cherry blossoms falling gently in a poetic setting, encompassing both fragility and freedom. In France, Italy, and Germany, he felt not only the vibrancy of the streets but also the presence of himself traversing layers of history. In America, there were times when he thought he was on the right track, only to find himself going in the opposite direction. "Thanks to those times I got lost, I learned many things that books don't teach. I learned to stay calm in a crowd, and to ask for directions with a smile and a thank you," Ly said.

Ly didn't travel simply to gain experiences and accumulate life lessons. He yearned to live many lives within one lifetime – to listen to, feel, and understand stories and cultures that seemed vastly different but shared a common humanistic rhythm. Crossing borders was an opportunity for Ly to truly engage in dialogue with the world – and with himself.

The value derived from these travels not only helped Ly conquer distant lands, but also led to academic milestones – completing her Master of Business Administration and now pursuing her PhD dream.

He increasingly understood the difference between knowing the destination and actually living in that destination. Ly also enjoyed photography and videography, capturing moments, but what motivated him to travel were things that couldn't be photographed – the inner movements of the soul, the changes in perspective and rhythm of life.

He listens more and is less judgmental. "Because every culture has its own philosophy, beauty, and reason for existence. We only find it strange when we look from the outside. But if you get really close, you'll see... all the differences are worth understanding rather than judging," Ly observed.

Ly also learned to be more grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to travel, to experience, and to broaden his horizons. More than anything, Ly is grateful for his homeland – the place he always wants to return to, bringing with him the good things he has gathered along the way. Most importantly, these changes have not only made Ly live a more fulfilling life but also more successful in his career. He is no longer just a service provider but also an inspiration to his clients.
