On the evening of June 17, a source from SGGP Newspaper reported that Ho Chi Minh City Police are coordinating with District 7 Police to investigate a fire at a warehouse suspected of storing cigarettes in the area.

At around 1:15 p.m. the same day, people discovered smoke and fire coming from a warehouse located in an alley on Tran Xuan Soan Street (Tan Hung Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) and shouted. Some people used water and fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
Because the warehouse contained many flammable items, the fire burned fiercely, with smoke rising dozens of meters high and threatening to spread to surrounding houses.

A while later, District 7 Police and other authorities arrived to put out the fire. About 30 minutes later, the fire was completely extinguished.
The fire did not cause any casualties but many properties were burned down. Some surrounding houses were affected by the fire.

Some residents said that the warehouse that caught fire was built a few years ago and was covered with a corrugated iron roof, so no one knew what goods were inside. This land is said to be a project that has been suspended by authorities since 2019.

However, the construction continued to build up the surrounding corrugated iron roofs to form a closed warehouse. No one could observe the inside if looking down from above. In which, this warehouse contained flammable and explosive substances, especially storing a lot of cigarette batches after the fire occurred...
