The opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 (DIFF 2026), taking place on the evening of May 30th, promises to deliver a spectacular artistic and technological feast along the Han River, featuring a host of famous artists and the largest stage in the festival's history.
Opening this year's fireworks season is a competition between the Da Nang International Fireworks Team (Vietnam 1) and the reigning DIFF 2025 champion from China - Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd, with the theme "Nature".
Beyond a spectacular fireworks display, the opening night is also expected to be a genuine art concert featuring many beloved artists such as Ho Ngoc Ha, Hoang Hai, Ha Nhi, and Nguyen Tran Trung Quan.
The performances were elaborately staged, combining diverse modern artistic elements with a spirit of celebrating the beauty of Vietnam and portraying the image of a youthful, dynamic Da Nang after the merger, rising strongly.
Besides famous singers, the opening night stage also features nearly 70 professional dancers and more than 30 international artists from Sun World Ba Na Hills, promising to create an explosive and visually stunning performance for the audience.
The program is hosted by the familiar duo of MCs Quang Bảo and Thụy Vân, with their modern, flexible, and emotionally rich hosting style.
With the theme "Danang - United Horizons - Connecting Horizons," the DIFF 2026 stage is designed based on the idea of a "crossroads of unification," where culture, emotions, and performing arts intersect.
With a width of up to 100m and an area of nearly 1,200m², this is considered the largest stage ever at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. The expansive performance space optimizes the audience experience from all viewing positions, while also allowing for large-scale displays to connect directly with the fireworks display above the Han River.
A special highlight is the "giant" lifting and lowering arch system, appearing for the first time at DIFF. The central arch, over 40m wide and more than 10m high, can move in less than 70 seconds, creating continuous, real-time scene transitions.
This year's festival space also features significant technological investment, with a high-power laser array, 3D LED matrix, Retro Amber lighting system, and a multi-layered mechanical system that allows the stage to continuously transform according to each performance.
In particular, Sky AR technology continues to be applied, allowing spectators to interact directly with the fireworks display using their personal devices. Laser LED projections projected onto the Han River and buildings on both banks will transform the entire festival space into a giant, multi-dimensional stage.
In addition, real-time audio technology allows viewers to enjoy music synchronized with the fireworks from any location, enhancing the viewing experience throughout the festival.
DIFF 2026 lights up Da Nang's summer tourism season.
With significant investment in stage design, technology, performing artists, and the quality of the international fireworks competition, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is expected to continue to make Da Nang the focal point of festivals and entertainment in Asia's summer.
The event was organized by the Da Nang City People's Committee with the support of Sun Group and sponsors such as Vietnam Airlines , Bizman Media, Chicilon Media, Pacific Airlines and the Vietnam Airports Corporation.
