The Government Inspector General (GIG) has just decided to suspend the inspection of 6 infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City, which were previously issued in Inspection Plan No. 1505/KH-TTCP dated July 22.

Specifically, the 6 projects include Thu Thiem 2 bridge, Phu My bridge BOT project, Phu My bridge approach road BT project, BT project of 4 main roads in Thu Thiem new urban area, Hanoi highway and national highway 1 expansion project from the old station 2 intersection to Tan Van intersection, investment project to build technical infrastructure for the northern residential area (functional areas 3 and 4), and completion of the North-South axis road (section from the foot of Thu Thiem 1 bridge to Mai Chi Tho street) in Thu Thiem urban area.
According to the Government Inspectorate, the reason for the suspension of inspection is that the projects have had previous inspection conclusions. The above projects are in the group of 20 projects under the inspection scope of the Government Inspectorate in Ho Chi Minh City according to plan 1505. Thus, with the decision to suspend the inspection of 6 projects in Ho Chi Minh City, there are still 14 projects directly inspected by the Government Inspectorate.
Previously, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho signed report No. 62 recommending the Government Inspectorate not to inspect a number of projects according to plan No. 1505 of the Government Inspectorate.
The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City reported that there are 15 projects that are not within the scope of inspection according to Clause 1, Part II of Plan 1505/KH-TTCP. These are projects that have had inspection, examination, investigation, and judgment conclusions (10 projects) and projects that are in the process of investment preparation or have not yet started investment and construction (1 project); projects that have difficulties and problems due to changes in mechanisms, policies, and laws (4 projects), of which 11 projects are not within the scope of inspection.
A project that is in the process of investment preparation or has not yet been invested in construction is the Investco Green City Residential Area at the project research site within the boundary of Functional Area No. 7 of the New Urban Area of South Saigon (Binh Hung Commune).
4 projects and works have had their difficulties and obstacles removed by competent authorities and are being focused on implementation, including Road 991B from National Highway 51 to the downstream of Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port, HH1 mixed-use housing project, high-rise residential project in Phu My Ward (old District 7), high-rise apartment complex project combined with commercial office services in Tan Phu Ward, District 7 (Everich 3).

In this report, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City stated that, in the spirit of focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles for project works and land plots in the area, in order to release resources for the goal of economic growth and anti-waste; in the coming time, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to focus on leading and directing departments, branches, and working groups to urge and coordinate with investors to deploy and implement the above 15 projects. Therefore, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City recommends that the Government Inspectorate not inspect the above 15 projects.
Previously, the Government Inspectorate issued plan No. 1505 on specialized inspection of works and projects with difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, long backlog, low efficiency, and risk of loss and waste.
Nearly 900 projects and works will be inspected nationwide. The Government Inspectorate will directly inspect 145 projects of central ministries, branches, corporations and general companies with a total investment of over 100 billion VND and inspect a number of large projects of provinces and cities with a total investment of over 1,500 billion VND. Ho Chi Minh City alone has 20 projects directly inspected by the Government Inspectorate.
