According to the Report on emulation movements launched by the Government Inspectorate in the 5 years (2021-2025), under the leadership of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, and the drastic direction and management of the Government and the Prime Minister , the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity, and waste has been comprehensively deployed by the Government Inspectorate with the spirit of "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
Accordingly, inspection, examination, auditing, investigation, prosecution and trial agencies have proactively coordinated more regularly, closely and effectively. They have focused on surprise inspections of areas prone to negativity and corruption, thereby achieving certain results in preventing and combating corruption.
In particular, cases with signs of corruption detected by inspection and audit agencies will be prosecuted and investigated according to the law.
In the 2021-2025 period, a total of 352 corruption cases involving 531 people were discovered. Of these, internal inspection activities discovered 93 cases and 102 people; inspection and examination activities discovered 162 cases and 297 people; and through handling complaints and denunciations, 97 cases and 132 people involved in corruption were discovered.
The results of inspection and anti-corruption work in the past 5 years have shown a strong change. Many serious and complicated corruption cases have been discovered, investigated, and strictly handled, which has had a deterrent effect, preventing and gradually repelling corrupt acts and recovering corrupt assets.
Inspection activities are carried out with focus and key points, meeting the requirements of State management and socio-economic development. At the same time, strengthen the inspection of the responsibility of leaders in performing assigned tasks, focusing on sectors, fields, and localities with many violations, negativity, and corruption. Construction works and projects that are behind schedule, have long backlogs, are ineffective, causing great loss and waste, so that mechanisms and policies can be put in place to resolve them.
The Government Inspectorate and the Ministry of Finance have reviewed more than 2,800 difficult, stuck, and long-standing investment projects, and proposed to include them in the list of projects for monitoring and direction by the Central Steering Committee.
Along with that, the Government Inspectorate continues to direct the improvement of the quality of inspection conclusions, strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of inspection conclusions; strictly and legally handle violating groups and individuals.
