Orientation to amend and supplement the Decree on management of foreign workers working in Vietnam

(HBĐT) - On May 29, the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to organize a conference on Orientation to amend and supplement Decree No. 152/2020/ND-CP of the Government, to collect opinions from the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sector on this issue.

Leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs gave their opinions on amending and supplementing Decree No. 152/2020/ND-CP.

Decree No. 152/2020/ND-CP of the Government was issued during the Covid-19 pandemic to quickly resolve a number of urgent issues in the Regulations on foreign workers working in Vietnam and recruiting and managing Vietnamese workers working for foreign organizations and individuals in Vietnam. Up to this point, the Covid-19 pandemic has been controlled, so a number of provisions in the Decree are no longer suitable for practice and need to be amended and supplemented, such as: regulations on applicable subjects; explanation of the need to use foreign workers; regulations on confirmation of not being subject to work permit issuance; regulations on dossiers and procedures for requesting work permits and re-issuance of work permits.

At the conference, delegates contributed to each specific content stipulated in the provisions of the Decree with inappropriate content, and gave opinions on additional amendments to the representative of the Department of Employment, thereby clarifying the responsibilities of localities and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to create the best mechanism in the recruitment and management of Vietnamese workers working for foreign organizations and individuals in Vietnam.
