Djokovic skips press conference, under great pressure before Shanghai Masters quarter-finals

(Dan Tri) - After winning the 4th round of the Shanghai Masters 2025, Djokovic acted without restraint and was under a lot of pressure before the quarterfinal match with Zizou Bergs at 5:30 p.m. today (October 9).

In the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters 2025 in China on the evening of October 7, Novak Djokovic struggled to overcome Jaume Munar. Under the stifling hot weather, Djokovic had to fight against an ankle injury and a weakened condition that appeared from the third round match against Yannick Hanfmann.

After the match, the Serbian player skipped the press conference to rest after showing signs of exhaustion. Djokovic will face Zizou Bergs in the quarter-finals this afternoon and he aims to win the title, as his opponent ahead does not have stars like Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverev or Taylor Fritz.

Djokovic is a record four-time Shanghai Masters champion and is aiming to win his first ATP Masters 1000 title since the 2023 Paris Masters. The 38-year-old also has 40 ATP Masters 1000 titles in his career.

Zizou Bergs is ranked 44th in the ATP rankings. The Belgian is on a 4-match winning streak and has defeated Casper Ruud and Korda at the 2025 Shanghai Masters. Zizou Bergs is showing remarkable progress and is ready to create a surprise against the world's No. 5 player.

Djokovic has also won 8 of his last 9 matches and is trying to find the 101st ATP title of his career. Nole's biggest rivals on the road to winning the Shanghai Masters 2025 are Alex De Minaur and Daniil Medvedev - the two players will face off directly in the quarter-finals at 2pm tomorrow (October 10).
