On April 29, Phung Thanh Do (Do Mixi) had his last broadcast on NimoTV, a streaming platform supported by Huya (China). This person had 5 years of cooperation with the app, was a famous creator and contributed the largest number of viewers. In addition, Do Mixi was accompanied by members of Refund Gaming, founded by Mr. Do. The above streamer group also has a large audience.

As soon as Do Mixi and his “teammates” left, NimoTV witnessed a sharp drop in live viewers. According to a report from independent monitoring company StreamsCharts, in the first week of May, the highest number of concurrent viewers on the platform was recorded at 156,200, while the average was at 45,000. This is the lowest number ever recorded on a livestream app since 2021.

These numbers have dropped significantly compared to the previous week, when Do Mixi was still working. Just a week ago, the number recorded by StreamsCharts peaked at around 460,000 people. The average lifetime view count was also over 95,000. Thus, NimoTV lost more than 60% of its users after losing its key broadcaster.

In addition to Do Mixi, Ramdo, Nhism, Dev Nguyen and QNT are also streamers from Refund Gaming, who have just terminated their contracts with NimoTV. These individuals are in the top 10 contributors of the most viewers to the platform in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, right after the end of their contracts with the broadcasting platform, these streamers immediately moved to YouTube. At the same time, they gained hundreds of thousands of views, taking away the number of users from NimoTV.

Previously, this platform was turned away by Do Mixi's fans. In the farewell post of the key streamer, the platform received thousands of offensive comments, declaring to "delete the app".

In 2022, NimoTV’s parent company Huya encountered financial difficulties and had to scale back operations. They closed down in a series of populous markets such as Brazil, Indonesia, and Thailand. After the event, the number of users dropped by more than 70%. From a multinational platform, NimoTV only has a prominent presence in Vietnam. However, the number of users still decreased year by year.

In addition, the quality of the business's services is not highly rated. The large capacity mobile app causes the device to overheat when used despite having few features. The transmission quality is poor, only supporting low bitrates but often lags.

According to Tri Thuc - Znews , NimoTV operates under a contract model of "paying" creators. Broadcasting partners will be paid a fixed amount, along with working hour targets and gifts. This is how they attract streamers when entering the Vietnamese market. Meanwhile, platforms like YouTube and TikTok share revenue based on advertising and donations from viewers.
