
At his grave, on behalf of the staff, reporters and employees of Lao Cai Newspaper, the delegation offered incense in memory of Writer, Journalist and Martyr Bui Nguyen Khiet, former reporter of Hoang Lien Son Newspaper, who died on February 17, 1979 at Lao Pao Chai high point, Ta Ngai Cho commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province.


On February 17, 1979, when the border war broke out, journalist Bui Nguyen Khiet volunteered to go to the front line, both working and fighting, and heroically sacrificed himself.
Writer, Journalist, Martyr Bui Nguyen Khiet was born on June 27, 1943, in Xich Tho commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province. Before becoming a reporter for Hoang Lien Son Newspaper, he was a secondary school teacher, having taught for many years in Bac Ha district, Sa Pa and Lao Cai town. He also wrote and was officially recognized as a member of the Vietnam Writers Association after his death in February 1979. In 2004, he was posthumously awarded the Phan Si Pang Literature and Arts Award, the first round, by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee.

It is known that his family has gathered his grave and buried him at the Martyrs Cemetery of Luong Son District, Hoa Binh Province. To pay tribute to the heroic sacrifice of Writer, Journalist, Martyr Bui Nguyen Khiet, Lao Cai City has also named a street in Binh Minh Ward after him.
