On the morning of September 27, the leaders of Champasak province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Secretary and Governor Alounxai Sounnalath, visited and worked with Thaco Group. The delegation included Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung expressed his pleasure at welcoming the delegation and hoped that through the visit and work, the two sides would have the opportunity to learn about cooperation and development. Talking to the delegation of Champasak province, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Thaco Truong Hai is a multi-industry corporation, making a great contribution to the local budget and hoped that Champasak would create conditions for Thaco to invest and develop in the locality.
At the meeting, Thaco Group also gave an overview of the formation and development process of the enterprise: starting as an auto repair factory; in 2003, Thaco invested in Quang Nam and has now become the largest auto manufacturing and assembling corporation in Vietnam. Currently, Thaco is a multi-industry industrial corporation, operating in the fields of: Automobiles, agriculture, mechanics & supporting industry, investment - construction, trade - services and logistics.
In Laos, Thaco is investing in a large-scale integrated and circular agricultural complex with a total area of over 27,000 hectares in Attapeu and Sekong provinces, mainly specializing in growing fruit trees and combining livestock farming. This project is developed in a closed model, creating consensus from local authorities. Thaco is also developing a logistics network to transport goods from Southern Laos and Northeast Thailand to Vietnam. Thaco has also discussed and hoped that Champasak will cooperate in developing a number of areas where both businesses have advantages.
Secretary and Governor of Champasak Province Alounxai Sounnalath thanked the warm welcome from the leaders of Quang Nam Province. The Secretary and Governor of Champasak Province said that Thaco's development orientation is strategic in the region, including three pillars: industry, agriculture and logistics, which are three areas in which Champasak has advantages and potential for cooperation in the coming time.
Champasak is a locality in Southern Laos, with favorable natural conditions for agricultural economic development; located on the East-West economic corridor, it has advantages for developing logistics and tourism. Therefore, Champasak hopes that Thaco will invest and cooperate with the locality to develop the agricultural sector; the two localities will also continue to discuss investing in synchronous infrastructure connection to exploit the transport of goods, develop trade, services, and cross-country tourism on this East-West economic corridor. The Secretary and Governor of Champasak said that these potentials will be the driving force for both sides to develop sustainably in the coming time.
