The Quang Binh delegation visits the Ami Savanakhet wind power project in Laos.

On August 27th, a delegation from Quang Binh province, led by Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang, visited and worked at the Ami Savanakhet Wind Power Project in Laos.

The Ami Savanakhet Wind Power Project (Laos) is invested in by Ami Renewables Quang Binh Investment Joint Stock Company. The project is implemented in 5 villages of Sepon district, Savanakhet province. The total land area used is approximately 106 hectares.

According to representatives of Ami Renewables Quang Binh Investment Joint Stock Company, thanks to the attention of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and central and local agencies, as well as the support of the people and local authorities of Savannakhet province and central agencies of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the investor has now completed the topographic, geological, and hydrological surveys for the entire plant and station.

In addition, the company has installed two wind measurement towers and is in the process of installing two more; completed the environmental impact assessment in accordance with Lao law; constructed and upgraded connecting roads and local roads, contributing to the benefit of the local people at a cost of approximately 37 billion VND; and initiated negotiations to sign a concession contract with the Lao government . Overall, the legal procedures in Laos have been basically completed.

However, the project is still facing some difficulties and obstacles, so the investor's representative hopes that the leaders of Quang Binh province will continue to pay attention and petition the Vietnamese Government and relevant ministries and agencies to prioritize creating favorable conditions for the project to be completed soon.

According to Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang, the Ami Savanakhet (Laos) wind power project symbolizes the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Quang Binh and Savannakhet in particular, and Vietnam and Laos in general. Furthermore, upon completion, the project will play a crucial role in economic development, ensuring energy security, and contributing to national defense and security in the Vietnam-Laos border region of Quang Binh.
