Informing the high-level delegation from Champasak province, representatives from THACO's Chu Lai office stated that, over 27 years of formation and development, THACO has grown into a multi-industry industrial group comprising six member groups: THACO AUTO, THACO INDUSTRIES, THACO AGRI, THADICO, THISO, and THILOGI.
In Laos, THACO has invested in a large-scale integrated circular agricultural complex covering over 27,000 hectares in Attapeu and Sekong provinces. As for Champasak province, although no projects have been implemented yet, THACO has collaborated with several businesses in the province on goods delivery and transportation to Vietnam.

Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, stated that the visit and working session provided an opportunity for Quang Nam, Champasak, and THACO to identify potential areas for cooperation. He also requested that the Champasak provincial leadership act as a bridge to facilitate meetings and promote cooperation between Champasak businesses and THACO. He added that when THACO conducts research and invests in Champasak, the provincial leadership will continue to show interest and create favorable conditions.
“Quang Nam and Champasak are located on the East-West Economic Corridor, offering many advantages for economic cooperation at border gates, linked to logistics development and goods exchange. For smooth cooperation, infrastructure must be adequate. Through this meeting and working session, we hope Champasak, together with Quang Nam, will have a stronger voice to encourage the governments of both countries to invest in National Highway 14D leading to the Nam Giang - Dak Ta Ooc International Border Gate and other routes on the East-West Economic Corridor within the southern provinces of Laos,” Comrade Tran Nam Hung proposed.

According to Alounxai Sounnalath, Secretary and Governor of Champasak Province, THACO has three very important pillars: industry, agriculture, and logistics. Champasak province has a favorable climate and a reliable irrigation system, making it very suitable for agricultural development. Furthermore, Champasak is the center of the southern provinces of Laos, located on the East-West Economic Corridor, with border crossings with Cambodia and Thailand. The province also boasts many scenic spots, including the World Heritage site Wat Phou.
To promote cooperation with THACO and businesses in Quang Nam, Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath agreed with Mr. Tran Nam Hung's views on infrastructure investment along the East-West Economic Corridor from Northeast Thailand through Southern Laos to Central Vietnam. He also expressed his desire for THACO to research and invest in agriculture in Champasak, especially in the development of fruit trees; and to expand cooperation in logistics development to transport goods from Southern Laos internationally via Chu Lai port.

On this occasion, the leaders of Champasak province and THACO exchanged commemorative gifts. The high-ranking delegation from Champasak province also visited THACO's automobile production and assembly facilities and Chu Lai port.
