This is a special political and social event on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), deeply demonstrating the gratitude and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the entire Party, people and army towards those who sacrificed and contributed to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Attending the ceremony were the highest leaders of the Party and State: General Secretary To Lam , President Luong Cuong , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and many leaders of ministries, central and local agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam was moved to express his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic martyrs and those who have silently devoted and sacrificed for the independence and unification of the country. The General Secretary emphasized:

"The sacrifice of comrades is an immortal symbol of patriotism, indomitable spirit and a guiding light for present and future generations in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland."

“The Party, State and People of Vietnam will forever remember the immense contributions of those who sacrificed and contributed to the cause of national liberation, national reunification and protection of the Fatherland.”

With sincere gratitude, the General Secretary also affirmed: The Party and State will continue to improve policies and laws, take better care of the material and spiritual lives of those with meritorious services, and not let anyone be forgotten in this gratitude process.

Together with the General Secretary, the State leaders graciously came to the rows of seats, shook hands, asked about each delegate, expressed gratitude and gave meaningful gifts.

In the hall, the images of seriously wounded and sick soldiers – some of whom had lost both legs, had to move around in wheelchairs or were supported by their comrades – moved the entire audience to silence. Despite their old age and frail health, many of them still had kind smiles, their eyes shining with pride, a living testament to the indomitable and optimistic spirit of the soldiers of the past.

Delegates from Quang Ngai province, with war invalids who participated in the Central Highlands campaign, the Tri-Thien Hue campaign, or those who were captured and tortured by the enemy in "hell on earth" - Phu Quoc prison, Con Dao... - had the opportunity to be honored, meet, exchange, and share memories and messages about patriotism and faith in the Party and the regime.

Before the meeting, the delegates offered incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street, visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, visited the Presidential Palace relic site and visited historical sites in the capital.

This is not only a journey of gratitude but also an opportunity for delegates to return to sacred memories, to be honored and cared for by the Party and State as if they were blood relatives, as President Ho Chi Minh once advised:

“Wounded, sick and martyrs are the nation's outstanding children - their blood has dyed the revolutionary flag redder, their sacrifice will be immortal forever.”

The meeting ended in a sacred, warm and emotional atmosphere. The firm handshakes and silent tears rolling down the gaunt cheeks of the men, women and children – who have contributed to the revolution – are proof of the eternal national pride.

This is not only a word of gratitude, but also a promise of today's generation: To continue to protect and promote the achievements of the revolution, following the path that the previous generation has worked hard to build with blood, tears and love for the homeland.
