Previously, the 30-year-old athlete defeated Rakhayeva Nazgul (Kazakhstan) in the quarter-finals for the losers' bracket.

This is also the first medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation on the competition day of October 5 at the 19th ASIAD.

Thus, up to now, Vietnam has won 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 15 bronze medals and ranked 19th on the medal tally of ASIAD 19.

Jujitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art that originated in the mid-16th century.

The current competitive version is also known as Brazilian Jujitsu (BJJ), as it was developed in the South American country in 1925.

This discipline focuses on self-defense by using many techniques of joint locking and squeezing to defeat the opponent.

In the karate event that took place right after, athlete Nguyen Thi Phuong lost to Lau Mo Sheung Grace of Hong Kong (China) in the individual kata bronze medal match.

The Vietnamese boxer scored 40.6 points, while his opponent scored 43.4 points.

Today, only Dinh Thi Huong has a chance to compete for a medal in the Vietnamese karate team.
