Alliance to promote localization and supporting industries
On October 1, Committee 3 on industries, production, processing and manufacturing within the framework of the Vietnam Private Economic Outlook 2025 (ViPEL 2025) held a meeting, with the participation of more than 20 leading enterprises in the industrial production sector. The meeting took place in a lively atmosphere, focusing on challenges in policy implementation and development orientation.
Mr. Vu Van Tien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geleximco Group said: We have the intelligence and ideas, the problem is how to act in difficult circumstances. Instead of 10 people doing it, if millions of people do it together, it will become a movement.
He emphasized the need to form business alliances to increase the localization rate and develop supporting industries in the next five years.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Thai Hung Trading Company noted that when a project is implemented, it is necessary to specifically consider the interest rate mechanism or appraisal process. According to her, instead of focusing on each individual project, the business community should focus on institutional aspects and official policies to create a pervasive voice.
"This is a long-term problem that cannot be solved immediately, but needs to be raised to have a clear direction," Ms. Vinh emphasized.
Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy - Director of Office IV said: The first projects in the list of 20 major national projects that ViPEL is piloting must create dual public-private benefits.
"It brings value to the community such as job creation and social security, while ensuring sustainable efficiency for the private sector," Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy explained.
According to Ms. Thuy, ViPEL is built on the model of "public-private partnership", with a new approach, shifting from "each doing their own thing" to "acting together". Ms. Thuy emphasized that the State cannot do everything, and private enterprises cannot do it alone, but if they join hands, Vietnam will have a new competitive advantage.
ViPEL is designed according to the "20 - 200 - 2,000" structure. In which, ViPEL 20 is a national strategic project; ViPEL 200 is a local project to solve infrastructure and logistics problems; ViPEL 2,000 focuses on grassroots scale, job creation and improving people's lives.
Forming supporting industry alliances to promote localization rate
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Trang - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Hanel PT New Generation Technology Joint Stock Company said: Vietnamese enterprises need to invest heavily in R&D and production of terminal equipment instead of continuing to depend on imports. This will help proactively source supplies and pave the way for Vietnamese products to enter the international market. Ms. Trang cited that by increasing the rate of agricultural and aquatic product processing by just 10%, Vietnam can bring in 5 - 7 billion USD per year.
"The alliance of supporting enterprises will jointly deploy freeze-drying technology according to an inclusive economic model, combining both cooperatives and small and medium-sized enterprises. If 34 provinces and cities participate, a large value chain will be formed, each processing station will become a nucleus of innovation, helping to spread the modern processing model across the country," Ms. Trang proposed.
Mr. Le Phung Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Citicom Trading Joint Stock Company also emphasized the importance of alliances to increase the localization rate.
"The projects are currently only at the local and enterprise scale. But if we join forces, we will increase the added value of the industry," Mr. Le Phung Thang affirmed.
Mr. Hoang Duc Vuong - Chairman of Vietcycle Corp also proposed: "To develop supporting industries, foreign enterprises entering Vietnam should form joint ventures so that domestic enterprises can learn."
Enterprises have shown their determination to accompany the Government , contributing practical solutions for the manufacturing, energy, high-tech and agricultural industries. These proposals are considered an important step, creating a foundation to promote localization, innovation and sustainable development.
