One day in mid-May, a group of European tourists booked a tour and were taken on wobbly basket boats to both see the mangrove forest and collect trash.

Bay Mau Coconut Forest is a famous tourist destination. For a long time, the bamboo basket boat tour has been a favorite of many tourists, especially Korean tourists.

Recently, in addition to sightseeing, some tourists and businesses want to join together to clean up trash in the coconut forest as part of responsible tourism.

Mr. Tran Van Khoa, director of Jack Tran Tours Hoi An Company, said that not only his business but also a few other units combine taking tourists and collecting garbage scattered in the coconut forest.

This garbage includes plastic bags, cloth, pieces of foam... floating from upstream or being thrown away and then getting stuck in tree roots.

"These are annual activities that we organize. With a famous tourist destination like Cam Thanh coconut forest, garbage is still sometimes scattered in many places despite the efforts of the units to collect it.

We hope that these activities will receive more cooperation from the government, people and tourists to protect the environment and preserve the beautiful coconut forest on the edge of Hoi An ancient town," said Mr. Khoa.
