Mrs. Nong Thi Dam, born in 1943, residing in block 29, Ky Lua ward, is the wife of a martyr. She shared: When my husband joined the army (in 1963), we had a 7-month-old daughter. In 1967, my husband died at the southern front. Suppressing my grief, I stayed single to raise my children and worship my husband. Later, when the country was at peace , thanks to the care of the Party and the State and the help of organizations and businesses, my family's life became much less difficult.
Mr. Lai Quoc Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, Chairman of the Provincial Veteran Business Association shared: The veteran businessmen who are members of the association are those who directly participated in the resistance war against the US and protected the border in 1979, so we are the ones who clearly feel the loss and pain. Therefore, when peace is restored, veteran businessmen always want to contribute their part to heal the wounds of war. In addition to supporting policy families to remove dilapidated houses, visiting and giving gifts on holidays and Tet, we also prioritize job creation and support production development for relatives of policy families in wards and communes in the province.
According to preliminary statistics, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the business community has given 550 gifts, free medical examinations and treatment, and demolished dilapidated houses for policy families worth nearly 1 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, said: In recent years, although the production and business activities of Lang Son enterprises have faced many difficulties, entrepreneurs and enterprises still pay attention to social security work, take care of policy families in the province and contribute to the province's gratitude fund.
In the context of integration and development, Lang Son enterprises continue to promote the spirit of "Repaying gratitude", considering this an indispensable part of the development strategy to build corporate culture. With specific and meaningful actions, the business community in the province continues to spread noble human values, lighting the flame of gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
