For young people, the story of Mr. David Duong, a young Vietnamese expatriate who used to collect scrap in the land of the stars and stripes, was pitied and even despised by the world... but was determined to start a business from trash with a capital of only 700 USD, then became a billionaire, inspired and intrigued them.

David Duong has inspired Fulbright students with many of his startup stories.

Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper, Mr. David Duong said that Fulbright is an American university in Vietnam, the school has very good teaching programs. To help Vietnamese students learn good knowledge at this prestigious university to serve their homeland, we have agreed to sponsor scholarships for Fulbright University with the desire to contribute more budget for the school to support studious students with difficult circumstances to continue studying. "Hopefully in the future, when students graduate, they will bring good knowledge and good things to contribute to building their homeland, becoming useful people for society and for their families. Students receiving scholarships will be selected by the school," said Mr. David Duong.

Mr. David Duong specifically stated about this scholarship program: "I will support 5 million USD (currently contributed 1 million USD) to the Fulbright scholarship fund. The remaining 4 million USD will be contributed according to the symmetrical model. If the philanthropists support the school, we will contribute that much. For example, if they contribute 500,000 USD, we will also contribute 500,000 USD. Even if they contribute 4 million USD, we will also contribute 4 million USD immediately so that the Fulbright University scholarship will have 8 million USD immediately. Thus, the school will have double the amount of funding to help more students receive scholarships. It should be clarified that the 4 million USD scholarship that I promised to implement using this symmetrical model does not include donations from Fulbright University board members. This is also our purpose to call on more people to contribute to the Fulbright University scholarship fund."
