In the first 10 months of 2024, the number of tourists visiting Hai Phong was estimated at over 7.8 million, an increase of 14.1% compared to the same period last year, with tourism revenue estimated at over 9,400 billion VND.
Following Typhoon No. 3, Hai Phong's tourism industry has gradually recovered. Statistics from the Department of Tourism show that in October 2024 alone, Hai Phong's tourism sector is estimated to have welcomed and served nearly 667,000 visitors (an increase of 10.06% compared to the same period last year), including over 80,000 international visitors (an increase of 2.95% compared to the same period last year). Tourism revenue in October is estimated at 800 billion VND.
In the first 10 months of 2024, Hai Phong's tourism industry is estimated to have welcomed and served over 7.8 million visitors (an increase of 14.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching 86.21% of the annual plan), including approximately 832,000 international visitors (an increase of 0.89% compared to the same period last year). Tourism revenue for the first 10 months of 2024 is estimated to reach over 9,400 billion VND.

Tourism promotion, development, and cooperation have been prioritized. Hai Phong has designed a promotional publication titled "Hai Phong's Agricultural and Rural Tourism," and is preparing to erect billboards promoting Hai Phong tourism and the Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage Site at Cat Bi International Airport. The Hai Phong Department of Tourism participated in the China-ASEAN Expo and organized a delegation to promote Hai Phong tourism in Guangxi Province, China. The department also collaborated with the Ngo Quyen District People's Committee to inaugurate the "Cultural and Culinary Street" on Phung Chi Kien Street.
Regarding tourism product development, Hai Phong is reviewing and surveying attractions, experiences, dining options, and accommodations to participate in the 2024 School Tourism Program; and reviewing plans for building and piloting a tourism product using trains called "Journey Connecting Heritage - Train Visit to Hai Phong Port".
In the coming period, the Hai Phong Department of Tourism has set out six key tasks, including officially launching the Smart Tourism Information Portal; and completing the digital transformation task of the tourism industry, "Digitizing images and explanations at some tourist destinations in the city".
