The management board of Thu Duc City Book Street (Ho Chi Minh City) has just announced information about the Book Street's activities in the first six months of the year and the activities taking place there this summer.
Activities and events increased, but revenue decreased.
In the first six months of the year, Thu Duc City Book Street organized 188 activities and events, attracting more than 17,000 participants. Despite the lively activities, the Book Street still recorded a decrease in revenue.
Accordingly, the number of activities and events in the first six months of the year increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2024 (171 events).
Besides book stalls, Thu Duc City Book Street continues to promote its role as a cultural space by building and maintaining themed areas.
Such as the Ho Chi Minh cultural space; the space dedicated to the homeland's islands and seas, featuring the symbol of the sovereignty marker on Truong Sa Island; and the stone slabs inscribed with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings and the biography of his mother, Ho Thi Tu (whose name is also the book street).
These spaces not only contribute to spreading historical and intellectual values, but also serve as venues for thematic activities, literary presentations, and traditional education .
However, according to the management, due to various objective conditions and factors that have more or less affected the revenue of the stalls at Thu Duc City Book Street, the figures have decreased compared to last year.

In addition to information about the activities of Thu Duc City Book Street in the first six months of the year, the management board also announced information about many summer activities for children there.
Launched on June 1st and lasting until August 17th, the "Welcome Summer 2025" program, themed "Opening the Book to Welcome Summer - Sending Love to Our Homeland's Islands and Seas," is a series of activities in response to the 2025 Action Month for Children.
The program series includes many special activities such as: an art and news photography exhibition of Truong Sa remembering Uncle Ho with 70 works by 7 photographers from the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association;
The children's art exhibition "The World Around Me" features innocent and bright brushstrokes expressing dreams of a colorful world, created by children themselves in the city-level "Green Brushstrokes" competitions.
The "Sea and Islands in My Heart" summer book area introduces many excellent books, helping children nurture their love for their country through each page; the mini book fair - a space connecting knowledge - introduces thousands of new and attractive books for children.
The "Golden Bell Ringing for the Blue Sea" competition attracted over 100 youth union members and children; interactive activities such as science exploration workshops, painting, and ukulele instrument experiences helped children express their personalities and develop their artistic thinking.
Many regular activities are held throughout the summer.
From now until August 17, 2025, Thu Duc City Book Street will maintain many regular activities such as:
The Mang Non Stage - nurturing young talents - performs every Saturday evening, bringing together talent clubs for children in the area.
The Thu Duc City Book Street Travel Card Program: readers collect logos from purchase receipts at book stalls to redeem gifts, encouraging a spirit of exploration and interaction;
The "Touching Green" workshop takes place every Saturday morning: children listen to interesting stories about plants, learn how to care for them, and decorate their own flower pots and plant their favorite seedlings to take home as a meaningful little gift.
