Cinema revenue is showing signs of stagnation.

According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, the film "Foreign Gold" directed by Khuong Ngoc continued to lead the Vietnamese box office last weekend.

The film has grossed a total of 62 billion VND after 10 days in theaters. Although it still holds the number one spot, the number of screenings, revenue, and ticket sales of this foreign-made film have all recorded a significant decrease compared to the previous week. At the current ticket sales rate, observers believe the film is unlikely to repeat the 100 billion VND achievement of " Sister-in-law ," director Khuong Ngoc's previous project.

Coming in second on the box office charts is "The Haunted House ." Including early screenings, director Truong Dung's film is currently grossing over 11 billion VND. Meanwhile, the Thai horror film "Tee Yod 3: The Organ Eater" is in third place this past weekend, bringing its current total revenue to over 80 billion VND. "Battle in the Air" holds fourth place and is nearing the 250 billion VND mark.

This past week saw the release of several new films such as Good Boy, Interview with a Murderer, Me and Roboco: Super Multiverse, and Snake Magic Trio … However, the market as a whole showed signs of stagnation, with new works failing to create a significant impact and box office revenue remaining low.

On Halloween (October 31st), the box office will witness competition between three Vietnamese films released on the same day: "Cai Ma ," "Pha Dam Sinh Nhat Me," and "Bit Mat Bat Nai ." In addition, the market will also welcome foreign films "Bi Mat Sau Buon Biet" (USA, thriller) and "Dien Thoai Den 2 " (USA, horror).

Nguyen Khanh Duong, founder of Box Office Vietnam , believes that Vietnamese films have a higher chance of competing with foreign films when released at the same time. "However, achieving high box office revenue will be a bit difficult. With the long holiday period over, audiences are somewhat 'saturated' with Vietnamese films. If new works aren't truly outstanding in terms of theme and content, it will be very difficult to reach the 100 billion VND mark," he said.
