The theme of this year’s International Museum Day, “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,” is a reminder of the social mission of museums to educate , inspire and connect communities, while also affirming the role of museums not only as places to preserve memories but also as living spaces of knowledge, creativity and intergenerational transmission.
In Vietnam, museums have been constantly innovating, applying technology, expanding display and exhibition activities, organizing educational activities in many diverse and rich forms with the aim of attracting a large public, especially young people, to join hands in preserving and promoting the nation's cultural heritage.
For the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum - a museum of the type of souvenir of the Dien Bien Phu victory event "Resounding in five continents, shaking the world", marking an important turning point in history not only in Vietnam but also internationally. Here, each artifact, each photo contains special values and every day, each cadre and civil servant of the Museum continues to tell historical stories connecting the past, present and future about the generation of ancestors who fought and sacrificed so that today's descendants can live in peace and independence.

Over the years, the leadership and staff of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum have always been united and made efforts in organizing and implementing professional activities such as: Researching, collecting, inventorying, preserving, displaying and promoting the value of more than 5,000 historical artifacts; coordinating with domestic and international museums to successfully organize nearly 50 exhibitions to promote and introduce the Dien Bien Phu Victory, with rich content and creative forms, attracting millions of visitors. Organizing many experiential programs "We are Dien Bien soldiers" for students of all levels at schools in and outside the province.
Through photo exhibitions, interactive games, seminars, and thematic talks, students are helped to improve their life skills, solidarity, creativity, alertness, and positivity in their activities and studies; students become familiar with the subject of history, especially research and learn about local history, contributing to spreading patriotism and national pride to the younger generation.
Besides, Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum is also a red address, a destination not to be missed by domestic and international tourist groups when coming to Dien Bien. The public comes here not only to learn about history, about the glorious past of their fathers and grandfathers, they come to experience, to understand who they are, what they want and what they will have to do.
As museum staff, we are always aware of the responsibility and honor of each person in preserving and promoting the value of the historical heritage of Dien Bien Phu victory, so that we always carry within us the enthusiasm, dedication, spirit of innovation and creativity in organizing professional activities and meaningful sightseeing experience programs.
