This was a key task emphasized at the training conference on the implementation of the Project "Supporting information and propaganda on national defense, security, ethnic groups and ethnic policies in provinces in land border areas" (Project 1219) in 2026, recently organized by the Political Department of the Border Guard Command.

It is known that on October 18, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1219 approving the Project aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of information and communication work in land border areas. The Project aims to support people, especially ethnic minorities, in accessing official information on national defense, security, ethnicity, and ethnic policies; thereby contributing to strengthening national unity and building a solid "people's support" in border areas.
Information presented at the conference indicated that, in recent times, agencies and units within the Border Guard have proactively and seriously implemented their duties, achieving many positive results. Information and propaganda work on national defense, security, ethnic groups, and ethnic policies has become increasingly in-depth, with many good models and innovative, effective approaches being implemented at the grassroots level. This has improved people's access to information, contributing to reducing information poverty in disadvantaged areas.
At the training conference, delegates not only received updated professional knowledge from the speakers but also shared and learned from practical experiences at the grassroots level.
In his directive speech, Major General Van Ngoc Que, Deputy Head of the Political Department of the Border Guard, affirmed that in the context of the world and regional situation continuing to have many complex developments; hostile forces intensify their subversive activities with many new methods and tactics, especially in cyberspace, the demands placed on information and propaganda work are increasingly high. Therefore, agencies and units need to continue to thoroughly understand the objectives and requirements of the Project; proactively innovate the content and form of propaganda in a practical, effective direction, suitable to each locality and target group. They should promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in propaganda work; promptly provide official information, guide public opinion, and combat false and hostile viewpoints.
According to the Organizing Committee, the conference aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to improve the quality of information and communication work throughout the Border Guard Force; and at the same time, create opportunities for units to share good models and effective methods in delivering essential information to ethnic minority communities in border areas.
