Innovation and improvement of the quality of basic and comprehensive education

Conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.

Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the People's Committees of communes and wards in the province; leaders of units and educational institutions under the Department.

In the 2024-2025 school year, with efforts and determination, the entire education and training sector of the province has achieved many important results. To date, the province has 437/596 schools meeting national standards, exceeding the Resolution's target by 3% and increasing by 150 schools compared to the beginning of the term. The system of facilities and school size has received attention and investment, to date, the rate of solid classrooms has reached 73.3%. Son La province has met the standards for eliminating illiteracy, universalizing primary education and universalizing secondary education at level 2.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, the province's graduation rate reached 99.59%, completing the set target. The quality of key education has been improved, with 34 students winning prizes in the national high school graduation exam for the 2024-2025 school year, an increase of 14 prizes compared to the previous school year; the application of digital transformation in management and teaching activities has achieved many important steps forward. The whole sector has 95% of teachers proficiently applying basic information technology in teaching preparation, 100% of educational institutions have Internet connection; 100% of student records are assigned a unique identification code throughout the learning process, ready to serve the implementation of electronic transcripts.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training will focus on perfecting mechanisms, policies and innovating educational management; promoting digital transformation and administrative reform; improving the quality of comprehensive education at all levels; focusing on standardizing and improving the quality of teachers and managers; strengthening international integration and promoting educational communication, contributing to building high-quality human resources for the locality and the country.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and commended the outstanding results of the entire education and training sector of Son La province in the 2024-2025 school year, making an important contribution to the completion of the province's socio-economic development goals. He requested the Provincial Department of Education and Training to continue advising and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee mechanisms and policies to improve the quality of the teaching staff, train high-quality human resources; promote digital transformation in management and teaching activities; pay attention to investing in facilities for educational institutions, especially in ethnic minority areas and particularly difficult areas of the province.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the title of Excellent Teacher of the President to 2 individuals; awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister to 14 individuals; awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2024-2025 school year. The Provincial Department of Education and Training awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Education and Training to 12 individuals; awarded Certificates of Merit for typical achievements in the period of 2020-2025 to 37 individuals and 17 collectives.
