The third day of competition on June 6 of the VNL 2025 volleyball tournament ended with the final match that Asian fans were looking forward to when Thailand faced Türkiye. After two disappointing defeats against Poland and Belgium, Thai fans were looking forward to an explosive match against Türkiye.

However, the events on the field were similar to the previous two matches. Thailand still played with determination and kept up with their opponents, but in the final moments of each set, they still lacked a bit of courage and luck, thereby accepting defeat 22-25, 24-26 and 22-25.

It is worth noting that after this match, the captain of the Thai team - Ajcharaporn Kongyot covered his face and burst into tears.

The above image surprised fans, teammates and even coach Kiatipong, who had to come to comfort the striker born in 1995. Continuing to receive defeat and the same regretful scenario made Ajcharaporn unable to hide his disappointment, along with the great pressure from Thai fans that made the new captain burst into tears.

After the legendary 7 retired, the new generation of Thai volleyball, although still playing well, is showing signs of slowing down. After many years of expectation, they still cannot achieve the goal of participating in the Olympics - the most prestigious volleyball playground in the world .

In VNL 2025 as well as other international tournaments, Thailand has gradually faded with increasingly declining achievements. In VNL 2024, Thailand only won 3 out of 12 matches and ranked 13th out of 16 participating teams in the group stage.

That is the reason why the Thai team was forced to change the captain position. Mr. Kiatipong - one of the most experienced coaches - returned to the hot seat. At the same time, the captain's armband was given to Ajcharaporn - a pillar of the Thai team in recent years for the first time.

VNL 2025 is the first tournament that witnessed Ajcharaporn Kongyot appear as a leader. But the pressure of finding victory, as well as the expectations from the fans, made her lose herself. After the first 3 matches, this main striker only scored a total of 9 points. In the encounter with Türkiye, she only had 2 points, that disappointing performance was the last straw that made the 30-year-old main striker unable to hold back her negative emotions.
