The Vietnamese women's team will have their final match during their training trip in Europe, when they compete with the German women's team at 11:15 p.m. on June 24. The match will be broadcast live on FPT Play. Therefore, the audience can watch the performance of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team live.
The German women's team is the current European runner-up and a candidate for the 2023 World Cup. The match against Germany on June 24 will be the second friendly match between the Vietnamese women's team and a European national team in the past year. Previously, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team played a friendly match against France. Although they lost 0-7, this is still a valuable experience for the Vietnamese women's team as they look forward to the 2023 World Cup, where Huynh Nhu and her teammates are in the same group with the United States (reigning champions), the Netherlands (reigning runner-up) and Portugal.
Vietnam women's team plays friendly match with Germany, match is broadcast on FPT Play
On June 20, the Vietnamese women's team took a flight from Poland back to Frankfurt (Germany). Here, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have 3 more days of training before having a friendly match with the German women's team on June 24.
With the support of the Vietnamese community in Poland, the exit procedures and luggage check-in of the Vietnamese women's team were quick and smooth. The flight of the Vietnamese women's team lasted 2 hours, landing at Frankfurt International Airport.
As soon as they left the airport, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team encountered a shower of rain, which delayed their return to the hotel. The Vietnamese women's team arrived at the hotel quite late, but the players were still in a happy and relaxed mood.
Previously, on June 19, the Vietnamese women's team had a friendly match with the Polish U.23 women's team. Although they did not win, the coaching staff considered this match a valuable lesson for the players when competing against opponents with good physique and fast speed.
On June 21, the players will return to a high-intensity training schedule of 2 sessions/day to adjust and prepare for the important friendly match with the German women's team at 6:00 p.m. (local time) on June 24 at Bieberer Berg Stadium, Offenbach.
Speaking about the match against the Vietnamese women's team, head coach of the German women's team Martina Voss-Tecklenburg said: "We are looking forward to the match against the Vietnamese women's team and Zambia. We have selected teams from Asia and Africa, which are the continents we will face in the group stage of the 2023 World Cup.
I'm really looking forward to the venues too. We can always enjoy playing in Offenbach. I hope the crowd will come and support us. I'm expecting great things, maybe even a sell-out, to build momentum towards the tournament in Australia and New Zealand."
