Vietnam women's team gathers to prepare for a series of important international missions

Coach Mai Duc Chung will lead the women's team to important goals this year.

Under the leadership of head coach Mai Duc Chung, the list of players summoned to the Vietnam Sports Department includes 25 excellent players from many localities across the country.

Supporting Mr. Chung during this training session are experienced assistants such as coach Doan Minh Hai, fitness expert Cedric Sege Christian Roger, and two former national players - coaches Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and Dang Kieu Trinh.

According to the plan, the players will be present for roll call on the morning of May 6 and will start their first training session in the afternoon of the same day at the Central Stadium. In the first training session of the year, the Vietnamese women's team will have 10 days to prepare for the international friendly match with Werder Bremen (Germany).

The match is part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany. Before that, on May 12, the team will have a friendly match with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, currently training in Hanoi.

At the end of the first phase of the training session, the team will depart for Japan for training from June 8 to 18. After the training trip, the team will continue to Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) to prepare for the qualifying round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship. The matches in Group E will take place here from June 29 to July 5.

On the evening of May 4, the early final match of LPBank V.League 2024/25 between Hanoi FC and Nam Dinh Steel Club attracted a large number of spectators to the stadium, creating an explosive atmosphere in the stands of Hang Day Stadium.

More than 10,000 fans sang the national anthem in unison with the star players of both teams, making the match have the atmosphere of a national team match.
