Welcome the sunrise at the thousand-year-old Cham tower in the heart of Binh Dinh

Banh It Tower is one of the few remaining Cham architectural and cultural complexes in Vietnam. This is a famous tourist destination in Binh Dinh .

Banh It Tower Complex (Tuy Phuoc District, Binh Dinh Province) is a Cham architectural and artistic relic dating from the late 11th century to the early 12th century. The tower was built on a high hill between two branches of the Kon River, about 20km from Quy Nhon City.

This is a complex of 4 towers with the tallest tower standing 22m high on the top of the hill and surrounded by subsidiary towers. From a distance, the tower looks like banh it - a specialty of Binh Dinh province, so local residents used that name to name the tower.

"This is the first time I have seen Banh It Tower at close range because its geographical location is a bit more difficult to visit than other Cham towers in Binh Dinh province. The architecture of Banh It Tower is almost intact. Welcoming the sunrise at Banh It Tower is one of the most impressive moments," Ms. Phong Linh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, excitedly shared.

To promote the image of Cham towers to tourists, travel service companies choose Banh It tower as a location in their Binh Dinh tour products. Talking to Lao Dong, Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh - Director of Marketing Department of Vietravel Tourism Company said that Binh Dinh is a province with a favorable geographical location for tourism development. This summer, more than 4,000 visitors have registered for Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh tours at the unit.

Banh It Tower is a unique architectural complex with diverse architectural forms, beautiful decorations, and high artistic value. Each tower here has its own distinct architecture and nuances. This cluster of towers was ranked as an Architectural and Artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1982.

In recent years, many relics have been invested in construction, renovation, restoration and embellishment, including Banh It Tower. The Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province has also submitted to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province regulations on management, protection and promotion of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots in the province.

The Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province is coordinating with the Department of Tourism of Binh Dinh province to propose tourism products to serve tourists when visiting Cham towers, especially night tourism products; organizing tours to bring tourists to Cham towers. In the Binh Dinh tourism development plan in 2023, the Provincial People's Committee sets a target of reaching 5 million visitors with revenue of 16,400 billion VND.
